Thanks to the League of Women Voters for hosting the second 4th District candidate forum. Here’s a little more on the event:
The League of Women Voters of Kansas City/Jackson, Clay and Platte Counties, a non-partisan organization and the Neighborhood Associations of West Plaza, Roanoke, Volker and Westwood Park cordially invite you to participate in “Pizza and Politics”, a Meet and Greet for the Mayoral and Council Candidates followed by a Public Forum for the candidates for Kansas City District 4 Council and Council At-Large seats.
The date, place and time for these events are:
Tuesday, May 21, 2019
Immanuel Lutheran Church
1700 Westport Road, Kansas City, MO 64111
Entrance is on the west side by a small parking lot. Addition parking available along Westport Road and neighborhood streets.
6:30 - 7:15 PM Meet and Greet (pizza and soft drinks)
7:20-8:15 4th District Forum
The purpose of the Meet and Greet and Candidate Forum is to give the citizens of Kansas City 4th District an opportunity to hear the candidates discuss the issues of importance to them in this election. The event is free and open to the public.
Following the Meet and Greet, the 4th District candidates will form a panel and respond to written questions submitted by the audience. The Forum will be moderated and timed with each candidate having one minute to answer. Two minute closing statements will follow the question/answer period. Efforts will be made to stream the forum to the public via Facebook. WPNA will also extend invitations to local media channels.
Because of the non-partisan nature of this forum, candidates and/or supporters may take no videos of the event and please offer your campaign materials only on the table provided outside the meeting space and after the forum.
