A thriving, healthy community must have housing that is not only affordable but is close to great schools, parks, jobs, and public transportation. I will champion policies that ensure that housing is affordable and accessible for all.

Kansas City is booming and I believe we can adapt to meet the growing demand for housing while continuing to honor and preserve our unique historic character. To stabilize rising rents I will work to encourage development of new homes of all types, especially affordable housing.

We must find a way to continue improving quality of life without displacing our neighbors. As we reinvest in our communities we must make sure housing is safe, accessible, and affordable for all. I promise to champion policies that will do just that.

The families who lived there were faced with a decision - stay in place and pay double the rent or move away to a less expensive home. I will work to find creative ways to ensure our residents can live in the neighborhood of their choice without fearing displacement.
